Part of having healthy relationships is to be able to understand and identify unhealthy patterns in ourselves and others. This course focuses on treatments and modalities that clinicians can use in a therapeutic setting to help their clients, couples, or families improve their skills working with those struggling with abusive relationships or codependency. Practical interventions are primarily the focus with a 6.0 hour course also available at Counselor's Choice Award with more information on theory related to codependency. The seminar reviews the current areas of research on different ways of treating codependent behaviors. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to: • Be able to define how to examine relationship roles to identify and define unhealthy codependent patterns. • Apply objective measurements to quantify and understand the impact of unhealthy dependent emotional needs and behaviors. • Identify and define typical behavioral and emotional patterns in healthy relationships. • Learn and apply at least one clinical intervention for addressing feelings and behaviors typical in relationship codependency.
